Thankful Thursday

On the way home from preschool, my kids told me they saw a "rainbow cloud".  I didn't know what they meant by that, but I saw it when we got home.  I am thankful for the beauty of nature.

Our family pictures need a little work.  It's hard to get that many people smiling nicely for a camera on a timer.  I'll try some photo merging and see what I can do.

In the meantime, here's a picture of just my husband and me:

Something unexpected happened after this.

I thought it was sweet how my oldest daughter was taking notes on the church broadcast, especially since she was making treats for us at the same time.  So I snapped this picture, not knowing that the next day she would receive a cut on her left hand requiring 4 stitches!

The accident happened when she was trying to wipe off a plate she was about to use.  I had spilled a little soup on the plate.  I said "sorry" but I moved on to pass out the Ramen noodles to another child.  In wiping her plate, she somehow accidentally broke the plate and cut her hand.  I looked at the blood and then had to sit down so I wouldn't pass out.  It's a good thing my husband was home!  He rushed her off to the ER.  I soon recovered from my squeamishness, then spent a few minutes just languishing in my guilty feelings.  They returned many hours later, all patched up but with no way to start the day over.

At least we still got to take some family pictures at the end of the day before the light was completely gone.  Maybe next time I can post a few of those.  Today I am grateful for the fresh start of a new day and a new week.

The Red Chair Office

On our trip, we were able to experience Mr. T's Greek office, which was pretty fun.

They have this spinning red chair.

Don't worry, she did not fall over.

The office is so nice looking!
